Associate Vice President – Insurance & Actuarial – Pricing Actuary

Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading Lloyd’s syndicate and is seeking a Pricing Actuary to join its London Market Pricing team in London.

This role offers the opportunity to provide high‑quality actuarial support across a diverse portfolio, drive pricing strategy, and contribute to business planning.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with underwriters and senior stakeholders to deliver technical pricing advice.
• Maintain and develop pricing tools, conduct portfolio analyses to validate assumptions, and improve methodologies.
• Monitor pricing adequacy, support reserving and capital modelling teams, and contribute to process improvements.
• Drive innovation and influence pricing frameworks that shape underwriting decisions.

Qualifications:

• Nearly or newly qualified Actuary (up to 1 year PQE).
• 3+ years in pricing commercial or specialty re/insurance.
• Strong technical pricing skills, including knowledge of programming languages and actuarial techniques and software; prior experience using HX, Python, and VBA highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate complex actuarial output to underwriters and management.
• Familiarity with London Market practices and UK Commercial & Specialty Lines.
