Customs & Operations Coordinator working within a multi-modal Operations team, transacting and arranging the smooth transportation of goods whilst providing the highest level of customer service.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Handling customs clearances within the brokerage team daily import and export trailers
- Planning and arranging freight for all controlled business across Europe, on dedicated and groupage services
- Invoicing files out to clients as per the billing sheets
- Monitoring and analysis of SEKO HMRC systems to ensure compliance and improve service levels
- Checking of invoices and back-up in files
- Sending of invoices and back-up to clients
- Obtaining supplier invoices and accruing in jobs
- Resolving client queries effectively and efficiently
- Operational Support for all transport modes
- Monitoring and reporting KPI’s
- Resolving internal queries and adapting new processes
- Run outstanding report of jobs left to be billed weekly
- Complete billing and invoicing within 7 days of shipment delivering
- Complete all month end billing by deadline each month
Skills
- Ability to prioritize & multitask; willingness to delegate
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Good knowledge of Excel
- General MS Office application knowledge
- Proven analytical & problem solving skills
Qualifications and Experience
- Customs knowledge is required, import and export is desirable
- Ability to use ASM Sequoia is required, Cargowise experience is desirable
- General freight forwarding knowledge is desirable but can be developed on the job
