Are you driven to push the limits of technology and unlock true autonomy? At Sekkari, we’re building the brains behind autonomy by designing advanced photonic integrated circuits that overcome processing bottlenecks of today’s systems. Our mission is to unlock true, real-time intelligence across aerial platforms, ground systems and robotics. Join our fast-paced and supportive start-up, and help shape the future of computing for edge devices.
Sekkari is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronic Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Engineer to play a crucial role in the design and simulation of our cutting-edge electro-optical chips. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions that will redefine the capabilities of autonomous systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of chip design principles and architectures, and hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools.
Responsibilities- Architectural Design: Lead the design and implementation of electronic ALUs and Flip-Flops, and their coherency protocols.
- System Integration: Design the logic responsible for running kernels, ensuring high-throughput data paths between the electronic and optical domains.
- RTL to GDSII: Drive the full digital design flow, including micro-architecture, RTL coding (Verilog/SystemVerilog), synthesis, and timing closure.
- Cross-Domain Collaboration: Work closely with the Silicon Photonics team to define the interface between the two parts of our hybrid chip.
- Performance Modeling: Analyze how architectural choices impact software-level performance, ensuring the hardware efficiently supports OS-level task scheduling and kernel execution.
- Verification & Validation: Develop comprehensive simulation and hardware emulation plans to verify logic correctness and power/performance targets.
- Traits: Curiosity is a key driving force for our work. We believe that curiosity brings discipline since it requires constant questioning. We also look for empathetic people. We want to cultivate a culture of empowerment where we look to collaborate and help each other grow.
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Core Experience: Proven experience in Digital IC design with a focus on Computer Architecture (cache hierarchies, bus protocols, task scheduling, and memory management units).
- Architectural Insight: Deep understanding of how hardware design influences software capabilities, particularly regarding kernel execution and OS resource management.
- Tool Proficiency: Expertise in industry-standard EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens) for synthesis, timing analysis, and physical design.
- Hybrid Mindset: While you focus on the electronics, an interest in or exposure to Silicon Photonics or Heterogeneous Integration is a significant plus.
- Startup DNA: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to pivot quickly in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
