Sekkari is building the brains behind autonomy by designing advanced photonic integrated circuits that overcome processing bottlenecks of today’s systems. Our mission is to unlock true, real-time intelligence across aerial platforms, ground systems and robotics. Join our fast-paced and supportive start-up, and help shape the future of computing for edge devices.
Sekkari is seeking an Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer to develop the foundational software layer for our hybrid electro-optical processor. This isn’t a standard SOC; you will be writing the code that manages a unique memory hierarchy where data moves at the speed of light in L1 and shifts to electronic logic for L2/L3 and OS execution. You will be responsible for low-level hardware abstraction, kernel optimization, and ensuring our "autonomous brain" communicates flawlessly with the outside world.
Responsibilities
- Kernel & OS Integration: Port and optimize real-time operating systems (RTOS) or Linux kernels to run on our custom electronic architecture.
- Driver Development: Write high-performance drivers for custom memory controllers, interfacing the electronic L2/L3 caches with the optical domain.
- Hardware Abstraction: Develop the HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) that allows high-level autonomous software to leverage our chip’s unique electro-optical speed.
- Performance Tuning: Work with the IC design team to profile and eliminate bottlenecks between the software execution and the hardware logic.
- Bootloader & Security: Design secure boot sequences and firmware update mechanisms for edge deployment in robotics and aerial platforms.
Qualifications
- Traits: Curiosity is a key driving force for our work. We believe that curiosity brings discipline since it requires constant questioning. We also look for empathetic people. We want to cultivate a culture of empowerment where we look to collaborate and help each other grow.
- Experience: 5+ years in embedded C/C++ and low-level firmware development.
- Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of OS internals (interrupt handling, memory management, scheduling).
- Hardware Fluency: Ability to read schematics and datasheets; experience using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes to debug "first-bring-up" silicon.
- Protocol Expertise: Experience with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, CXL, DDR) and standard protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
- Mindset: You thrive in the "undefined" space of a startup where you are often the first person to run code on brand-new hardware.
How to Apply
