Sekisui Diagnostics is looking to appoint a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician within their Maintenance & Engineering Department.

In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for completing predictive, preventative and reactive maintenance to a variety of utility systems, manufacturing equipment and facilities/buildings, always ensuring safety and quality compliance. Technical skills will include troubleshooting, testing, interpreting mechanical drawings including P&ID’s. Continuous improvement principles will identify root cause of issues and recurring faults, with the aim to eradicate or improve PPM maintenance to prevent recurrence.

To be successful in this role you will be; self‑motivated, work independently or in a team when task requires; coordinate and oversee the work of external vendors; follow safe working procedures/practices (LOTO); author and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s); author and update maintenance instructions; raise Purchase Requisitions, raise and approve Permits to Work; review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS); raise and complete Deviations and CAPA’s; complete allocated work on time to support departmental KPI’s and goals; support new equipment projects (installation, commissioning, validation); future support of out‑of‑hours breakdowns/weekend routines.

The successful candidate will have education and / or experience in some or all the following areas:

  • GMP/Pharmaceutical environment
  • Experienced in the use of a Quality Management System
  • Proactive organised approach to self‑manage planned and unplanned workload
  • Maintenance of pumps, valves, seals, bearings, belts, pulleys
  • Hands‑on confident use of hand, inspection and alignment tools
  • HVAC systems serving clean rooms
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Experienced in the use of a CMMS system
  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience
  • Mechanical Maintenance Apprenticeship, City & Guilds or similar
  • Experience of laboratory, fermentation and purification equipment desirable
  • Legionella training; management of cooling towers and domestic water systems
  • Steam generation/industrial boiler operation and feedwater testing desirable
  • Electrical knowledge is desirable
