SEKISUI Diagnostics are looking to appoint a Material Handler to join the logistics department on a full-time basis. In this entry-level role, you will support the day-to-day movement of materials across the site. Working as part of the logistics team, you will help with receiving, storing and issuing materials, preparing orders for internal and external customers, and keeping accurate records in line with site procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries, check items against paperwork, label correctly and put stock away in the right location.
- Pick, stage and deliver materials/job packs to production areas and support functions as required.
- Pick and pack customer and inter-site orders, ensuring correct quantities and packaging.
- Support stock accuracy by completing basic stock checks and assisting with cycle counts.
- Complete basic paperwork and system transactions accurately (e.g., goods in, movements, picks) following training and procedures.
- Escalate any damage, discrepancies, or temperature-controlled concerns promptly to a supervisor, following site processes.
- Maintain logistics areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organization, including routine cleaning and good housekeeping.
- Follow site health & safety rules (including COSHH) and report hazards, near misses, or incidents.
- Carry out manual handling and use material handling equipment safely (after training), such as pallet trucks and, where qualified, forklifts.
The Successful Candidate Should Have
- A basic understanding of quality, accuracy and following procedures (ISO9001/cGMP awareness is a plus, but training can be provided).
- An interest in working in a warehouse/logistics environment; previous experience is helpful but not essential.
- Confidence using computer systems to complete transactions and record information (ERP experience desirable).
- Basic IT skills (e.g., Outlook/Excel/Word) and attention to detail when completing paperwork.
- A current forklift license is desirable; if not held, willingness to train and be assessed is required.
