37 Hours a week Monday - Thursday 8am-4:30pm, Fri 8am-1pm
Up to £18.25p/h PAYE plus holiday and pension contribution OR up to £24.77p/h Umbrella
An exciting opportunity to join a team within the Research & Development Centre in Peterborough. If you have experience using hand tools, and soldering of electronic components, this could be a great role for you.
What the Technician will do:
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions, using various hand, power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area
- Assist engineers in conducting technical investigations of current and future product working predominantly with engine components or systems to validate for performance and durability
- Operate test equipment and conduct investigations as directed by an engineer to obtain, analyse and summarise data
- Record evaluation results in appropriate form (curves, charts, tables, sketches, photographs) with the appropriate tools (hardcopy, software, etc.) to engineer for inclusion in technical reports. Depending on experience and demonstrated skills, may handle limited objective, moderately complex jobs without engineer’s guidance
- Have direct contact with components working in the lab and with test rigs; observing, operating and testing the product or component, together with recording of various test data measurement points
What the Technician Will Need:
- Have experience of soldering of electronic components, instrumentation set up, software and basic data capture
- The ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment
