37 Hours a week Monday – Friday (1pm finish on a Friday)

Up to £34.60p/h PAYE plus holiday and pension contribution OR up to £46.96p/h Umbrella

The Diesel Engine Validation Engineer will be responsible for planning and delivering engineering activity as part of the Diesel Performance, Emissions and Validation Group. This involves engine validation, analysing data and trends, root cause corrective action and evaluation of corrective actions.

What the Diesel Engine Validation Engineer will do:

  • Diesel Engine Performance evaluation and understanding of engine health
  • Mechanical verification and validation of engine components and systems
  • Defining and managing component validation plans
  • Generation of test cycles, instrumentation requirements, boundary conditions and acceptance criteria
  • Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activity
  • Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
  • Technical reporting
  • Support to the design function is required through FMEA attendance

What the Diesel Engine Validation Engineer will need:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in product validation, verification, testing, or development engineering
  • Experience creating validation plans, test procedures, and technical reports
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies. E.g. 8D, DMAIC etc.
  • Experience interpreting and analysing test data
  • Understanding of engineering validation and verification processes
  • Experience validating product performance against Product or Technical Objectives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • High standard of written technical reporting
  • Working knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems such as cooling, lubrication, air etc…
