An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Proving Test Technician to join a leading globally recognised Fortune 100 engineering company supporting a high volume of new engine and machine development programmes.

With multiple full machine builds and new product introductions planned, this is a key hands-on role within the Proving Test team, supporting engine installation, testing, validation, and troubleshooting across internal combustion, hybrid, and electric systems. You’ll also gain exposure to a range of environments, including EV workshops and off-highway machine development, with rotation across teams to broaden your experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Installing and repowering engines and powertrains into off-highway machines
  • Supporting testing, validation, and machine build activities
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Instrumenting test systems with sensors and data equipment
  • Working from engineering drawings
  • Operating heavy off-highway equipment (excavators, loaders, tractors etc.)
  • Supporting workshop fabrication, assembly, and test activities
  • Assisting across teams during peak workloads and business-critical projects

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a workshop, testing, or maintenance environment
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with engines, powertrains, or heavy machinery
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Hands-on workshop/tool experience
  • Comfortable working across IC, hybrid, and electric systems
  • Background in automotive, off-highway, rail, aerospace, or manufacturing
