Initial 12 month contract – likely to extend for the right person! 37.5 hours a week: the team work between 07:00-17:00 with flex on start and finish times. It’s a shorter day on a Friday, usually finishing by lunchtime or 2pm at the latest. Up to £17.95 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £24.57 - depending on experience.

We’re looking for a Materials Planner to join our client’s busy global Supply Chain Team in Desford. This is an initial 12 month contract which is likely to be ongoing for the right person! If you’ve a strong eye for detail, and are an excellent communicator who is keen to learn & progress, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.

What will the Materials Planner do?

  • Coordinate required materials and parts with global suppliers
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure their schedules meet the facilities requirements
  • Ensure deliveries take place as planned
  • Check forecast accuracy and update plans/schedules as required

What skills and experience will the Materials Planner need?

Essential:

  • Previous supply chain experience within a Manufacturing Company. Tracking deep sea shipments / Freight Forwarding / Imports experience would be advantageous
  • Previous experience working with suppliers; able to speak with suppliers + build relationships quickly
  • Competent PC user - Excel is key! You must be able to create pivot tables & use vlookups for analysis
  • Must be comfortable with using MRPs and learning different programs
  • Excellent attention to detail and an analytical thought process - analysis of data is key
  • Excellent communicator – you will need to build rapport & relationships with suppliers and colleagues
  • A fast learner who enjoys new challenges and is keen to develop and progress!
  • A team player who is also self-motivated, with the ability to solve problems independently and put measures in place to stop them from reoccurring

Desirable:

  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification
  • Power BI, Visio or SAP experience
  • Transport experience would be beneficial
