08:00-16:30 Mon Thurs & 08:00-12:30 on a Fri
Up to GBP26.10 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to GBP35.43 β depending on experience
We re looking for 2 Buyers to join a world leading manufacturer of construction and off highway machinery on an initial 12 month contract, which has the potential to be ongoing for the right people, in line with business need! What the Buyerβs remit involves:
- Support delivery of a lean, responsive, and resilient material and services flow for the facility from source to dock and additional required points
- Recognise the potential for cost and inventory reductions, quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment and then work with the correct internal teams to deliver
- Operate and monitor the supply network procurement functions to meet the defined response time, cost, quality, and lean targets enabling optimal and efficient facility operations.
- Collaborate with business partners and suppliers and resolve facility specific supplier issues
- Manage global suppliers
- Travel: approx. up to 5% of the time
Skills and experience the Buyer will need:
Essential:
- Proven experience in purchasing in an engineering manufacturing environment (e.g. automotive, off highway, aerospace etc). Must have direct material procurement experience
- Supplier Management and negotiation skills; demonstrable experience building and maintaining supplier relationships
- Ability to analyse data and use evaluation tools and techniques for procurement activities
- Analytical thinker, problem solver, and a strong communicator who can face challenges head on!
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- SAP software experience β SAP/MACH1 experience in particular would be an advantage
- NPI experience
