Aerospace Precision Components Bristol (BS30) Full-time | Permanent Salary: up to £16.32 an hour (depending on experience) and 25% shift allowance.

Benefits: generous holiday entitlement + pension (including salary sacrifice), cycle to work and EV scheme.

Double Days shift pattern, includes a 25% shift premium on both shifts:

  • Week 1: 6.00-14.00 Mon-Thurs + 6.00-11.00 Fri
  • Week 2: 14.00-22.00 Mon-Thurs and 11.00-16.00 Fri

About the Role:

We are recruiting for a CNC Turner to join a busy aerospace manufacturing group, producing precision aerospace components. This is a hands-on role supporting the manufacture of precision components. You will be operating machinery, and ensuring production runs safely, smoothly, and to a high quality standard.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Setting & operating Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines in a safe, organised and compliant manner
  • Producing precision components to engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Installing workpieces, fixtures and cutting tools
  • Setting tooling, establishing machine datums and manufacturing soft jaws
  • Selecting and adjusting machine parameters, speeds and feeds
  • Carrying out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Producing components accurately to the required tolerances
  • Troubleshooting tooling, programming and machining issues
  • Optimising cycle times while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Completing setup sheets, tool lists, inspection reports and production documentation
  • Working closely with colleagues to improve machining processes and support continuous improvements

Essential:

  • Experience using a CNC Turning machine in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Good working knowledge of component dimensions using inspection equipment (e.g. Micrometers, Verniers and Plug Gauges)
  • Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance & specifications, efficiently, accurately and safely
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Desirable:

  • Aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience
  • OEE / FourJaw systems, Multi-spindle / multi-turret machines
  • Use of inspection machines – e.g. CMM or Opticline machines
