Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic QTS Tutor to provide personalised academic support to students across various age groups. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching, strong communication skills and experience working with children or individuals requiring special education. Knowledge of SEND, trauma informed behaviours and dealing with dysregulated behaviour would be an advantage.
Duties
- Deliver customised tutoring sessions in subjects such as mathematics, science, wellbeing or other specialised areas based on student needs
- Assess students\β current understanding and tailor lesson plans accordingly to optimise learning outcomes
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and engagement
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to both students and parents/guardians where appropriate
- Prepare educational materials and resources to enhance the tutoring experience
- Support students with organisational skills and study techniques to improve their overall academic performance
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism during all tutoring sessions
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, ideally with children or students with special educational needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey concepts and motivate learners
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and requirements
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students of diverse backgrounds
- Organisational skills to plan lessons efficiently and track student progress
- Knowledge of special education practices is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided if necessary
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: Β£30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 per week
