This individual will be required to manage a dedicated Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting team for Private Equity and Hedge Funds, including tier 1 Clients. Reporting to the Conducting Officer responsible for Fund Administration, the role involves interacting with professionals at all levels, both internally and externally. Candidates must have a high level of understanding of Private Equity and Hedge structures and related investment types, and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the teams and the management of a portfolio of Private Equity and Hedge funds. This includes local production of accounting deliverables and financial statements, as well as oversight of delegated accounting deliverables and financial statements within the group. The role may be performed in a hybrid fashion (in the office 3+ days/week, and from home up to 2 days/week) within applicable cross-border tax and social security limits.

What you’ll do:

  • Promote integration of Accounting and Financial Reporting with other SEI lines of business
  • Participate in management skills training and staff development
  • Set and enforce departmental policies
  • Develop and communicate goals and objectives for the team, and formulate action plans; periodically review prioritization and monitor progress
  • Conduct performance appraisals, hold monthly one-on-ones, provide career pathing and training; participate in staffing, interviews and hiring; foster a team environment including development, promotions and disciplinary action
  • Participate in or lead departmental projects as applicable
  • Lead and develop your team of Private Equity and Hedge Fund Accountants and Financial Reporting Specialists
  • Manage delegation of funds, onboard new fund setups, liaise between clients and internal teams, and provide accurate accounting packages
  • Correspond with investment managers regarding day-to-day inquiries, fund transactions, administration servicing planning and reporting of funds and financial statements; client engagement and quality service are essential
  • Generate and reconcile all accounting valuation reports and financial statements per NAV frequency
  • Review and approve NAV valuations prior to distribution with a goal of 100% accuracy
  • Coordinate year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP
  • Monitor and perform due diligence on delegates to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Set departmental policies and procedures related to the operational control environment
  • Direct, lead and drive process change to improve efficiency
  • Monitor the progress of the funds’ annual audits
  • Write and coordinate fund accounting responses to RFPs and RFIs
  • Participate in prospective client visits

What we need from you:

  • At least 7 years’ experience in a fund accounting role, including at least 5 years with Private Equity funds
  • Experience with private equity and hedge accounting systems
  • Experience reviewing fund financial statements and understanding Luxembourg GAAP and IFRS for investment companies
  • At least 3 years of people management and leadership experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritising work to maximise efficiency
  • Strong knowledge of fund structures and regulatory requirements
  • Experience reviewing fund documents
  • Business fluency in English
