Neurointerventional Radiology Consultant
Responsibilities
- Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures
- Helps lead and implement the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
- Participates in the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
- Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times
- Attends Divisional meetings as required
- Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
- Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief
Responsibilities – Technical Task
- Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty. The Consultant Physician’s clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for the care they provide
- Complies with all established hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices
- Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources
- Leads ward rounds; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice
- Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures
- Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
- Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required
- Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care for individual patients
- Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
- Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals
SEHA Compliance
- Complying consistently with facility policies, procedures and practices and ensuring alignment with SEHA facilities policies.
- Completing and maintaining regulatory requirements including: licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frame
Qualifications
SEHA Qualifications
- Qualification from Tier 1
- Qualification from Tier 2
- Current national license or equivalent
- Certified proof of yearly CME
Additional Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Neurointerventional Radiology
- American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, any Western Board, Fellowship or additional certification in Neurointerventional Radiology
- Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in Neurointerventional Radiology
- Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility
- Experience working within JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred
