Job Description:
- Performing all pediatric radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols.
- Performing other radiography (special) procedures as required.
- Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards images to Radiologist for review and reporting.
- Adhere to radiation safety principles, ALARA principle, dose limits and follow the radiation safety policies, procedures and departmental local rules.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment, including restocking of supplies for subsequent use and equipment cleaning.
- Providing advice to medical/technical staff on appropriate techniques and clinical staff on appropriate imagery interventions.
- Dealing with patients and clinical staff initial enquiries and relaying to clinical staff where necessary.
- Whenever required, directing and monitoring all procedures carried out by junior staff under supervision and stepping in whenever there is a requirement.
- Responsible for the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the department.
- Providing advice and responding to queries across the organization.
- Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Performing all pediatric radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols.
Qualifications:
- BSc in Radiography or Graduate from an accredited Diploma Program (NLT 3 year syllabus).
- Graduate from an accredited Radiography program (NLT 2 years syllabus) and registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, UK HPC, or equivalent.
- Current national license.
