The Pediatric Endocrinology Consultant is responsible for providing specialized medical care to children and adolescents with hormonal and metabolic disorders. This includes the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions such as diabetes, growth disorders, thyroid abnormalities, and other endocrine-related diseases. The Consultant will also contribute to clinical leadership, staff development, research initiatives, and ensure adherence to international and local medical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage endocrine disorders in children, including diabetes, growth hormone deficiencies, adrenal and thyroid conditions, and puberty-related issues.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care with a family-centered approach.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, including blood tests, imaging, and hormone level assessments.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pediatricians, dietitians, nurses, and educators.
  • Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior doctors and medical staff.
  • Ensure clinical documentation is accurate and compliant with DOH and hospital standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives within the department.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in pediatric endocrinology.
  • Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and hospital policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Residency and Fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology from an accredited program.
  • Board Certification in Pediatric Endocrinology (e.g., American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, MRCPCH, or equivalent).
  • Valid DOH License (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years post-specialization experience as a Consultant in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and related systems.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
