The Role
We are seeking an experienced PLC Programmer to support automated production systems within a fast‑paced automotive manufacturing environment. The role involves programming, commissioning, and supporting PLC‑controlled machinery across production lines, ensuring high levels of reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain PLC programs for automotive production equipment
- Commission new machinery and upgrades on production lines
- Fault‑find and resolve PLC and control system issues to minimise downtime
- Support continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and production teams
- Assist with machine run‑offs, line launches, and customer acceptance
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and backup systems
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a PLC Programmer within the automotive sector or similar
- Experience with HMIs and industrial networks
- Ability to diagnose and fault‑find equipment under production pressure
- Understanding of safety systems and industrial standards
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
