The Opportunity

  • As an
  • Industrial Engineer

, you will be responsible for developing, improving and sustaining manufacturing processes that enhance productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance across complex automotive production operations.

You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, logistics, engineering and operational teams to ensure production targets are achieved while supporting future growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Process Optimisation

  • Design and improve manufacturing processes to achieve productivity, quality and cost objectives.
  • Develop process flows, manufacturing layouts and workstation designs.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and best practice documentation.
  • Support manufacturing readiness for new product introductions and production launches.
  • Industrial Engineering & Capacity Planning
  • Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard cycle times.
  • Perform labour analysis and workforce planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain assembly line balancing models.
  • Evaluate production capacity and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on operational excellence.

  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Standardised Work
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • New Product Introduction & Launch Support
  • Support production launch activities from prototype through to serial production.
  • Participate in PFMEA and process validation activities.
  • Coordinate manufacturing trials and run‑at‑rate exercises.
  • Ensure successful and efficient product introductions.
  • Cost & Performance Improvement
  • Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities.
  • Analyse operational and manufacturing performance data.
  • Support equipment, tooling and facility investment planning.
  • Deliver measurable productivity and efficiency improvements.
  • Proven experience within an Industrial Engineering role in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within OEM, Tier 1 or high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Strong background in time studies, line balancing and labour planning.
  • Proven experience supporting manufacturing process improvements and production launches.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Desirable

  • Experience within vehicle assembly, powertrain, battery assembly, body shop, paint shop or component manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of EV manufacturing processes.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
