We are currently supporting a Global OEM as they work towards kicking off production of a new vehicle in Ellesmere Port. The Supply Chain Co-Ordinator will be responsible for preparing, managing, and monitoring the launch and operation of parts flows within the plant ensuring that the right parts are in the right place at the right time within the plant. The role acts as the key link between suppliers, logistics teams, and manufacturing operations to ensure parts are delivered in the correct sequence and on time for vehicle production.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure launch areas and facilities are ready within the plant.
- Support launch and production ramp-up activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers.
- Ensure vehicles are sequenced correctly and delivered on time to support production.
- Monitor and achieve logistics and sequencing performance metrics.
- Optimise plant costs by adjusting material flow plans and responding to changing production requirements.
- Develop strong working relationships with production units across the plant.
- Maintain effective communication with Supply Chain (SC), ILE, and other plant teams.
- Monitor sequencing and logistics flows, escalating any deviations or issues.
- Support suppliers with IT installations, facility setup activities, and other launch-related requirements.
Profile
- To be successful in this role, you will need to be self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly organised, with a strong understanding of in-plant supplier operations.
- You will demonstrate sound judgement and effective problem-solving skills, enabling you to make informed decisions and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
- In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and be confident using technology to support supply chain and logistics activities.
