As BIW Process Engineers you will be joining a growing division of Segula Technologies. This offers a large potential for personal growth within a consultancy who works with multiple customers and sectors. You will be responsible for development, introduction and launch of all new / modified processes & facilities associated with new vehicle model introductions and model year changes, within Bodyshop assembly facility.
Utilising your knowledge to Plan, Develop and Implement BIW assembly processes and facilities to deliver the Safety, Quality, Timing and Cost objectives. Providing feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements. Ensure robust process quality planning including virtual build simulations and PFMEA’s. Supporting of physical builds at workshop, pilot build and Manufacturing Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate. Evaluating suitability of manufacturing technologies for a wide range of applications – i.e joining technologies, transfer systems, logistics, etc. Preparing, issuing and evaluating supplier “Request for Quotations.” Assembly process & equipment verification at suppliers and at home manufacturing facility. Supporting problem solving on complex issues to support achievement of KPI’s. Supporting management activities through development and monitoring of timing plans. Ensuring adherence to company and departmental operating processes and policies. Manage technical issues, offering guidance to the team and escalating where appropriate. Achieving Equipment Capability targets of all new & modified facilities.
Qualifications Required:
- Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above, preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or Mech/Elec combined) and/or suitable engineering experience in BIW manufacturing.
- Experience in delivering and launching BIW assembly line facilities.
- Experience of delivering design with AUTOCAD or CATIA.
- Strong complex problem-solving skills & investigation of quality issues, manual station over cycles, effective reporting and stakeholder management.
- Project management experience of delivering new or modified equipment into a production facility.
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams and take task ownership to deliver results.
- Ability to plan & prioritise workstreams to deliver objectives effectively.
