Join the world of the future in a fast-growing international company! At SEGULA Technologies you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and help shape the future within an engineering company which is at the heart of innovation. Our expertise covers automotive, bus, truck, agricultural and industrial vehicles. We are working on the technological breakthroughs that will facilitate the mobility of tomorrow.
The Logistics Engineer will support the development of the process flow for BIW bodies leaving the Body-in-White area and entering a new open‑floor buffer zone capable of holding approximately 35 bodies prior to packaging. Packaging may also include fitting additional components such as battery packs or other vehicle parts, using hoists and manual handling equipment. Once packaged, units will be transferred out of the zone and handed over to logistics teams for onward shipment. This role blends technical engineering with practical shopfloor activity. Some days will involve design, layouts and supplier management; others will be more hands-on, supporting area setup, trials, and general operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Engineering & Process Development
- Contribute to process flow development for BIW body buffering, packaging and logistics handover.
- Support creation and updates of CAD layouts to communicate concepts and area designs.
- Work with suppliers to design, select and install equipment such as hoists, skids and handling tools.
- Assist in developing packaging and material-flow solutions based on PFEP data and ILE standards (intermediate level; not full senior engineering scope).
- Hands-On Practical Activities
- Support physical setup of the buffer and packaging zone, including marking out areas, applying floor tape, organising signage and printing labels.
- Take part in physical flow trials and area readiness checks.
- Work closely with FLT teams, operators and cross-functional colleagues to ensure smooth and safe operations.
- Assist in basic handling trials, equipment positioning and problem-solving during launch phases.
- General Industrial & Cross-Functional Support
- Support parallel ILE-led projects across BIW, General Assembly and Paint as required.
- Help coordinate operator training on new equipment or processes.
- Provide day-to-day operational support during quieter engineering periods or supplier lead times.
- Ensure safe, ergonomic and compliant operation of new layouts and processes.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Enjoys a blend of engineering and hands-on activity
- Likes seeing processes physically come to life on the shopfloor
- Is comfortable stepping into practical tasks when required
- Can communicate effectively with operators, suppliers, and engineering teams
- Wants to develop experience within automotive internal logistics engineering
Not suited to someone looking for a purely CAD-based or office‑based engineering position.
Essential Skills & Experience- Background in industrial engineering, logistics engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar.
- Ability to produce or interpret CAD layouts (AutoCAD, Catia or equivalent).
- Experience working with suppliers or equipment integrators.
- Understanding of material flow, ergonomics, handling equipment and layout planning.
- Confident working within active production or industrial environments.
- Automotive experience in BIW, Assembly or Paint.
- Familiarity with PFEP, kitting, sequencing or lean logistics principles.
- Experience with hoists, skids, pallets or manual handling solutions.
