Responsibilities
- Read and interpret route sheets, drawings, Shop Instruction Sheet (SIS), Weld
- Procedure Specifications (WPS), weld and rod cards.
- Plan and organize the RT/UT welding process.
- Identify and verify work piece material.
- Communicate with the team members and shop foreman.
- Perform basic fitting to a pre-established layout.
- Work in a safe manner, demonstrating good workmanship and practices.
Proven commitment to workplace safety. - Ability to understand and adhere to quality requirements and productivity expectations.
- Minimum 5 years of manual welding experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform manual welding and repairs to RT/UT quality standards using multiple welding processes.
- Intermediate blueprint-reading skills.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in awkward positions.
- Ability to pass respirator fit-testing, if required.
- Welding Test: Candidates must successfully complete a welding test consisting of:
- 6G position test: 2 ¾" OD carbon steel pipe, 0.625" wall thickness.
- GTAW root pass in the 6G position - visual inspection.
- SMAW fill and cap in the 6G position - visual and RT inspection.
