Segritude Games was established in May 2023. We are a passionate start-up game development company committed to creating unique, immersive gaming experiences. Our growing team brings together diverse skills and expertise, working collectively to develop a game that stands out in the industry.
As a start-up, we offer a flexible contractor agreement requiring a minimum of 15 hours per week.
PLEASE NOTE:
This position is currently unpaid/voluntary position at this time. Compensation will be provided once we secure investment or generate revenue. Our HR staff ensures your hours are accurately recorded and tracked. Once funding is secured, these funds will be allocated to compensate you for your contributions.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This is a remote Concept Artist position at Segritude Games. As a Concept Artist, you’ll play a crucial role in visualizing and defining the aesthetic direction of the game. You will create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, creatures, props, and more. Your work will guide 3D artists and designers in bringing our world to life.
You will collaborate closely with the art director and other departments to establish a cohesive visual identity for the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create compelling and imaginative concept art for characters, environments, and props.
- Translate written and verbal ideas into visual storytelling and design.
- Support the creation of mood boards, colour scripts, and style guides.
- Collaborate with 3D artists, designers, and developers to ensure concepts translate well into in-game assets.
- Iterate quickly on designs based on feedback.
- Maintain visual consistency aligned with the overall art direction.
- Contribute to worldbuilding through artistic exploration and design sketches.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience as a Concept Artist (indie or professional experience welcome).
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of concept work (characters, environments, props, etc.).
- Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or Krita.
- Understanding of composition, lighting, anatomy, and colour theory.
- Ability to adapt to a range of styles (stylized to semi-realistic).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a remote, collaborative environment.
- Ability to take feedback and iterate effectively.
GOOD TO HAVE:
- Experience with 3D tools like Blender or ZBrush for concepting.
- Basic knowledge of game engines (Unreal Engine preferred).
- Familiarity with UI/UX or graphic design principles.
- Background in traditional art or design fundamentals.
- Experience working in an agile, start-up environment.
