This exciting new role is part of the ASG electric thrust reverser actuation centre of excellence, working with a team of technical innovators to develop next‑generation aerospace nacelle actuation.

The position is based in a new bespoke facility in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Test Engineer within Aerostructures UK you will be a key contributor to the generation of test evidence for the entire product life cycle—from prototype to qualification to in‑service support—demonstrating compliance with internal and customer requirements.

You will plan, prepare, execute and report prototype and qualification testing, ensuring functional deliverables meet procedures and processes.

Collaboration across a multi‑national, cross‑functional team and engagement with internal and external customers throughout design, integration, test and production will be essential.

  • Drive EH&S awareness and good housekeeping standards in the test environment.
  • Interpret customer requirements into prototype and qualification test definitions and formal test procedures.
  • Generate and issue qualification and prototype test documentation.
  • Develop and execute test procedures on prototype hardware prior to design completion.
  • Create test equipment definitions to support test activities.
  • Source and manage external suppliers, test facilities and equipment.
  • Set up tests, build and mount units in test rigs.
  • Commission and validate test equipment.
  • Perform functional acceptance tests of prototype units.
  • Conduct qualification testing, record and monitor data throughout.
  • Review test data against requirements and report outcomes.
  • Support failure investigations and drive corrective actions.
  • Deliver and present results through clear written and oral communication.
  • Coordinate off‑site testing, including transportation, assembly and commissioning of support equipment.
  • Oversee external test house operations and performance of functional tests during off‑site testing.
  • Maintain internal standard work and processes.
  • Collaborate across the team to identify synergies, best practices and opportunities.
  • What You Must Have
  • Degree‑level qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated development/test engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of electro‑mechanical actuation and sensors.
  • Experience supporting failure investigations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to a wide range of audiences.
  • A passion for self‑development and engineering excellence within a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of aerospace qualification testing and reporting.
  • Generation of test execution documentation.
  • Ability to contribute to conceptual test planning.
  • Execution planning of documentation and testing to support project milestones.
  • Management of qualification testing (onsite and off‑site).
