Senior Software Engineer – Embedded UI Focus on developing core features for the Roku platform UI, building high‑performing applications and SDK components for a popular consumer electronics platform.
Responsibilities Work closely with product development, platform services, and release management teams to contribute extensively to embedded UI development and underlying architecture.
Integrate third‑party C++ libraries.
Investigate, diagnose and resolve issues within the Roku Platform.
Qualifications Relevant software development experience with a proven track record of designing and shipping high‑quality software on an embedded platform.
Extensive experience with C++ and Embedded Linux or Native Application Development.
In‑depth understanding of Linux, tools, libraries, and open‑source development.
Proficiency in AI‑Assisted programming.
Understanding of API design considerations and trade‑offs.
Familiarity with tools and libraries such as Boost, Play Ready, ALSA, DIAL.
Experience with memory management and multithreaded development.
Experience with Open GL and Direct FB.
Media / Video knowledge – codecs, media streaming, etc. is a plus.
Embedded and consumer electronics experience is desirable.
Ability to accurately estimate software tasks and work to schedule.
