Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer – Livingston, Scotland

Position Duration: Permanent • Full Time (37 hours per week) • Onsite (Livingston, with some travel to Glenrothes).

Security Clearance: Baseline – Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust/repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Ownership and responsibility of process/equipment throughout the Product Value Stream.
• Conduct Design for Excellence (Df X) analysis and collaborate with Design teams.
• Identify, expedite, and/or escalates any quality or performance issues.
• Achieve On Time Delivery targets.
• Use manufacturing data and analysis techniques to proactively identify and address issues, driving systemic root cause/corrective action.
• Report and maintain Process/Equipment Engineering metrics, track performance & yields against team KPIs and individual goals & objectives.
• Drive continuous improvements through Best in Class and World Class Manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• High-performance engineer and self-starter.
• Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes across a wide range of technologies and production platforms (CCA, HLA, etc.).
• Experience in a high‑reliability electronic assembly environment (Defense / Medical / Aerospace). Commercial Electronics background also encouraged.
• Demonstrated contribution to specific improvements in production program effectiveness, efficiency and optimisation.
• Ability to lead/participate in process FMEA, Control Plan, Process flow development, review and risk mitigation processes.
• Experience with SPC, OEE, ESD, COSHH & risk assessment.
• Understanding of 6Sigma (or equivalent methodology) and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 guidelines (including recent revision updates).
• Minimum of HNC in an electronics-related subject (HND/Degree preferred). Relevant industry experience considered.

Desirable but not Essential

• Experience supporting processes such as Stencil design, Screen printing, Jet dispensing, SPI, SMT placement, Reflow oven profiling, AOI, AXI, MXI, PTH, Selective/Wave Solder, Wet processes, Underfill, rework processes.
