  • Position: Equipment Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Livingston, West Lothian, United Kingdom. Onsite, Full Time (37 hours per week). Permanent.

Security Clearance

Baseline (BPSS). Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, calibrate and verify equipment within manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain experience with environmental test chambers.
  • Active involvement in cell layout design, installation and compliance.
  • Lead equipment engineering problem solving with a proactive and continuous‑improvement approach to maximise availability, predictability and performance of manufacturing systems.
  • Analyse and improve manufacturing processes and operating efficiencies.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians.
  • Assist in departmental training and development plans and provide cross‑training for engineers and technicians.
  • Document work undertaken to provide traceability and history.
  • Participate in the planning, installation, commissioning and qualification of new equipment.
  • Ensure conformance to all company and statutory safety regulations and practices.
  • Be flexible with shift rotation and overtime to support manufacturing needs.
  • Support the 24/7 call‑out rota and be production‑orientated, capable of coping with a demanding workload.

Qualifications

  • HND in a related engineering discipline with at least five years of experience in equipment engineering.
  • Demonstrate accountability for equipment and process performance.
  • Good communicator with strong technical knowledge of relevant equipment and processes.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work using a Maintenance Management System.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts if required.
  • Team player, able to work unsupervised or as a member of a team.
  • Customer focused with a “Can do” attitude.
