Information Security Counsel (Commercial Contracts)

We’re looking for an Information Security Counsel/Contracts Manager who can navigate both the technical world of cybersecurity and the nuances of legal compliance.

As a vital member of our fast‑paced Commercial Legal Team, you’ll be a key collaborator in the deal cycle, translating our technical security posture into signed agreements and ensuring customer requirements are scalable and well‑vetted.

This role is open to licensed attorneys and experienced contracts managers alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate & Close: Draft and negotiate complex technology agreements with major enterprise customers, serving as the lead voice on security terms.
  • Bridge the Gap: Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Info Sec, Product Engineering, and Product Legal to align commercial goals with technical realities.
  • Advise & Protect: Provide frontline legal guidance on security and contractual risk for standard matters, partnering with senior counsel on complex regulatory questions and novel issues.
  • Know the Product: Develop a deep understanding of Rubrik’s platform to represent our security posture in customer negotiations and internal product discussions.
  • Ideal Profile
  • Self‑driven professional balancing sharp business judgment with deep technical literacy.
  • Proficient in data security issues faced by technology companies and industry compliance standards (NIST, ISO, etc.).
  • Expertise in negotiating the technical aspects of enterprise software and cloud licensing agreements.
  • Knowledge of European regulatory frameworks such as DORA, EU AI Act, EBA guidelines is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle live, customer‑facing negotiations.
  • Strategic operator with business judgment to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Unwavering integrity and a commitment to professional excellence.
  • Collaborative, comfortable interacting with global stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. J. D. or equivalent legal training preferred, with demonstrated fluency in contract language.
  • Experience: 4–7 years of in‑house experience in contract management or as legal counsel, or equivalent law firm experience in technology transactions.
  • Security Fluent: Proficient in data security issues and industry compliance standards.
  • Technical Curiosity: Passion for understanding how technology works.
