About the Team

The Technical Operations team is the platform's first line of defense — a global, around-the-clock organization responsible for the health and stability of the Roku Channel and the systems that power it.

With engineers across the US, Canada, Mexico, and India, Tech Ops monitors ad delivery, CDN infrastructure, live feeds, and content pipelines 24/7, triaging and resolving issues before they reach viewers.

The team sits at the intersection of Engineering, Content Operations, Live Operations, and Advertising — owning escalation paths, SLA frameworks, and high-visibility launch support.

Beyond incident response, Tech Ops invests in automation and tooling to reduce toil and scale with the platform.

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to support the end‑user experience of the Roku platform, including the Roku Channel (TRC).

The Engineer will work with a global Technical Operations team and collaborate across Live Operations, Advertising Operations, Editorial, Engineering, and Customer Support.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize issues for engineering to resolve and facilitate communication to operational and business stakeholders.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and triage issues relating to advertising on the Roku platform.
  • Work with the broader technical operations team to support Roku infrastructure including ad services.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve day‑to‑day issues; perform data analysis as needed.
  • Resolve problems independently and follow documented escalation procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant technical experience in video or related technology disciplines.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with ability to work with engineering and business owners.
  • Comfortable and adaptable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Interface with internal and external customers in a polite, positive, and professional manner.
  • Detail‑oriented, analytical, methodical and committed to driving quality.
  • Familiar with the entertainment industry (or a fan of movie/TV).
  • Knowledge of consumer product and user interfaces and networking functionality is a plus.
  • Willing to work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends.
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience required.

Benefits

Roku offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include healthcare (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance, accident, disability, commuter, and retirement options (401(k)/pension).

Employees also receive mental health and financial wellness support and resources.
