Role Scope Responsibilities: As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will support the day-to-day operations of the Supply Chain team by helping to manage inventory, coordinate stock transfers, produce operational reports, and maintain strong supplier relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in supply chain within a fast-paced distribution environment. You will work closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to ensure products are available where and when they are needed.
- Key Responsibilities
- Inventory & Stock Transfers
- Assist in coordinating stock transfers between warehouses to maintain inventory availability.
- Create and monitor stock transfer orders within the ERP system.
- Track stock movements and investigate any transfer discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and highlight potential stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Support cycle counts and stock reconciliations to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Help investigate stock variances and assist with implementing corrective actions.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and supply chain reports.
- Update dashboards and KPI reports relating to inventory, stock transfers, supplier performance, and service levels.
- Analyse inventory and operational data to identify trends and support business decisions.
- Maintain accurate data within ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Provide administrative and analytical support for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supplier Management
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, stock availability, and order updates.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and report any delays or issues.
- Support the resolution of supplier queries and stock-related issues.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and documentation.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with Warehouse, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
- Support demand planning and purchasing activities by providing accurate inventory information.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure all activities are completed in line with company procedures and health & safety standards.
- Skills & Experience
- Essential
- Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Control, Purchasing, or a similar analytical role (including placement or graduate experience).
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related discipline.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, IF statements, charts).
- Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Desirable
- Experience using an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar).
- Knowledge of inventory management or warehouse operations.
- Experience producing reports or working with business data.
- Understanding of supply chain or logistics processes.
