Scope
Reporting to the “in country” Head of Supply Chain, this role is seen as a key interface with the local business functions on categories, suppliers, and process.Working collaboratively with the business to understand the customer and business needs, will lead on local/ regional supplier relationships and pro-active price negotiations to establish best commercial terms and margin opportunities as competitive differentiators. Will manage and optimise stocks within own and teams supplier base, minimising overstocks, whilst ensuring security of supply.
Responsibilities:
Procurement
- A strong emphasis on transactional activities, supporting strategic activities as appropriate.
- As part of a cross functional team, lead RFI/RFP activities that lead to the selection of the right suppliers/products.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with sales forecasts and stock targets whilst working closely with the wider supply chain team to minimise stock-outs and overstocks.
- Develop and present reports to the management team highlighting any trends or issues.
- Through own and team supplier base, maintain a relentless focus on day-to-day procurement activities, with a right first-time mindset, including, but no limited to:
- Maintenance of purchasing contracts, agreements, and terms
- Practical involvement in identifying suppliers
- Responding to internal stock requests in a timely manner and in line with company strategy
- Manage suppliers open order books
- Placing and managing outgoing PO’s
- Maintaining Auto order data, correct lead times, minimum stocks etc where appropriate
- Supplier reporting and forecasting
- Facilitating and tracking supplier rebates where appropriate
- Raising and allocating of warranty orders
- Preventing identifying and resolving critical shortages
- Preventing, identifying and resolving allocation issues
Supplier relationship management
- Establish cross functional collaborative environment that maximises mutual value through the supply chain, by:
- Collaborate and negotiate with non-strategic manufacturers to maintain best terms, pricing, rebates and contracts.
- Conduct regular reviews with non-strategic suppliers and of their products, to drive performance and continuous improvement and fully secure the value of contractual agreements.
Supply Chain Risk & Resilience
- Maintain a relentless focus on supply chain risk and resilience the “in country” suppliers, considering the impacts of global, geo/ political, sustainability and supply chain issues pro-actively that could impact security of supply and our ability to meet the customer and business needs.
- Working collaboratively with the business in the development of contingency plans that underpin business continuity and ensure security of supply

- Create a learning environment that enables your team to be at their best, both in terms of wellbeing and performance including:
- Develop the team through the creation of individual development plans which clearly sets out their priority areas for development.
- With the “Head of” develop and disseminate team and individual objectives which are clearly aligned to the objectives of the supply chain function and that of the business.
- Conduct objective performance-based reviews with the team and fully utilise Perform Yard to monitor and track individual performance.
Qualifications and experience:
Committed to, studying for, or achieved MCIPS or equivalent.
