As a Senior Associate, Of Counsel, or Legal Director , you may be eager to take the next step in your career this year to secure a Partnership position. However, such opportunities may be blocked at your current firm. With many years of experience, Segal Placements works with numerous firms across London and the South East, where we are encouraged to recommend top-quality Senior Associates or equivalent candidates who are already UK Qualified, currently working in private practice in the UK, and have begun building a following, understanding what it takes to bring work into their firm.
We are currently working with no fewer than NINETEEN firms, ranging from progressive International/City Firms to Mid Town, West End, and Regional Firms, all recognizing the value of developing the next generation of Junior Partners. We have placed lawyers as Junior as 7PQE directly into Partnership elsewhere.
Current hot practice areas for direct Partnership opportunities include, but are not limited to: Real Estate, Litigation, Employment, Private Wealth, Construction, Insolvency, IP, and Defamation. Some roles require only a limited amount of following, and in some cases, a slight reduction in earnings may be acceptable to attain Partnership, depending on the individual.
Candidates must:
- Be legally qualified to work in England and Wales
- Currently work in private practice in the UK
We can also advise on law firms that typically do not bring Senior Associates directly into Partnership laterally, regardless of the strength of the business case, and can identify firms where such moves are less likely to be successful.
