Segal Placements is a Partner led legal recruitment agency focusing on lateral hires into private practice within London. Our contacts within our client firms are senior lawyers, Heads of Departments, Managing Partners and CEOs.

If you are a Partner, either Junior or Full-Equity or even a senior non-Partner but have managed to start nurturing your own relationships, and are considering your future, we remain extremely busy as we head into the Spring of 2026 with over 40 LIVE roles at some of London’s leading Firms.

We work with leading international and US Firms, National Firms, Regional Firms and strong West End / Mayfair Firms. A limited selection of some of the Partner roles we are presently looking to fill include:

  • Corporate Partner for dynamic Mid-Town Firm
  • Private Wealth Senior Associate - London office of Leading Regional Firm
  • Real Estate Partner to Head team - Large London office
  • Employment Partner - Central London Firm
  • Corporate / Commercial Partner (less following needed - £100k min) - Mayfair Firm
  • Litigation Partner (2 New Roles) - one London Outskirts, one City Firm

We have live roles in all of the practice areas listed below, all looking to be filled in or before Q2 of 2026:

  • Employment
  • Structured Finance
  • Commercial Litigation
  • Construction
  • Contentious Insolvency
  • M&A and Private Equity
  • IT / Commercial Contracts
  • HNW Residential Property / Landed Estates
  • Private Wealth
  • International Arbitration
  • Property Litigation
  • Data Protection
  • International Projects
  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Planning
  • Family / Divorce
  • Banking / Finance

As mentioned, the roles that we are looking to fill almost always see the need for an individual to have a client following of their own (usually ranging from c£250,000 up to multiple £Million), albeit one or two of our roles require no following and others require only half a practice, with pre-existing work for that individual to tap into.

Our roles suit senior and experienced current full-equity Partners, junior Partners and senior non-Partners (Counsel / Legal Director level) who have started to nurture a few relationships of their own and have their own book of business.

We have fantastic relationships with almost all of The Lawyer Top 200 Firms, so even if we are not currently aware of any roles in your particular practice area, we have direct access to the key decision makers in all of these Firms and so can readily drum up a list of possibilities for you.

We can be differentiated from most other Legal Recruitment Agencies by virtue of the fact that:

  • We almost ONLY work on Partner and Partner Designate roles (95% of our jobs)
  • We ONLY work with the Lawyer 'TOP 200' Firms
  • Our contacts are almost exclusively Managing Partners, CEOs and Heads of Department who we have a direct line through to and from whom we tend to get very swift feedback.
  • Our Director previously spent many years working on the Chambers Legal Directories and as a result has an in-depth understanding of which Firms best suit which individuals and multiple contacts at most leading Law Firms.
  • We have placed at and worked with virtually every one of the top 200 Law Firms and a majority of US Firms in London.

So whether you are tentatively looking to explore the market, seriously looking or else simply want a greater understanding of current market conditions, should you be considering your future either as an individual, as part of a team or are looking to merge or bolt-on your Firm, feel free to contact us for a confidential discussion on 0203 930 1003 or email our Director, Julian.
