All of our Partner roles require interested parties to be:

  • UK Qualified
  • Working or have recently worked for an established Private Practice Firm, ideally in the UK
  • Have at least 'some' track record of having introduced work to their Firm, be it through clients or referrers

Segal Placements are happy to be assisting a leading London Firm who are keen to further grow out their fledgling International Arbitration team by recruiting a Partner of strong pedigree who understands what it takes to develop a practice.

Whilst ideally suited to a current junior Partner, they would likewise consider more seasoned individuals or even a senior non-Partner such as Counsel, Legal Director or Senior/Managing, although that individual would likely be a minimum of 10 PQE and would be able to promise some sort of small-mid-size following of clients or referrers and would have already started introducing matters to their current Firm.

The role centres on acting in complex, high-value disputes that frequently involve multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will take a leading role in developing the arbitration offering, shaping its future direction and deepening relationships with an international network of clients, counsel and experts.

The position suits a lawyer with a proven track record in international arbitration, ideally with experience spanning commercial, investment or treaty matters. An ability to manage substantial caseloads, guide teams and engage confidently with sophisticated clients is essential.

The firm's Partners combine technical excellence with the ability to take on contentious matters that often attract significant public, political or commercial scrutiny as well as individuals with commercial flair who appreciate what it takes to grow a practice.

An active caseload or portable client following is required, reflecting the seniority of the role and the firm’s commitment to continued growth in this area. Experience in sanctions—whether advisory, compliance or contentious—would also be advantageous although is not essential; albeit with such experience an additional leadership title reflecting responsibility for that area of work may be on offer.
