We are currently representing a leading London law firm with a first‑class reputation in commercial real estate who are looking to appoint a Planning Partner to establish and lead their in‑house planning capability. The firm has long been recognised for the strength of their commercial property and construction teams, both of which generate a significant and consistent flow of planning‑related work. At present, this work is referred externally, and the firm is now ready to bring this capability under its own roof.
The ideal candidate will be a UK‑qualified planning specialist with a strong track record in town and country planning matters. While a substantial following is welcome, the firm does not require a huge book of business as clearly they have work to give to the incoming Partner. The firm is less focused on major infrastructure or DCO‑heavy practices and is instead looking for someone whose experience aligns with the full range of planning issues arising from commercial development, regeneration, mixed‑use schemes, and related advisory work.
Although the firm is primarily seeking a Partner, they will also consider a Senior Associate or equivalent who can demonstrate the ability to work as a Partner and who brings at least some client relationships of their own. Our client can offer a highly competitive remuneration package for the right individual, along with the opportunity to build and shape a practice with the full backing of market‑leading real estate and construction teams.
If you are an experienced planning lawyer looking for a platform where your expertise will be central to the firm’s strategic development, this role may be ideal.
