We are happy to be assisting a leading US law firm, who are expanding rapidly in London and are looking for a Data Protection and Privacy Partner to take this side of the practice to the next level. The London office has a distinguished client roster and a growing reputation across a range of sectors, particularly technology. This is a chance to join at a formative stage, shape the direction of a strategically important practice, and be rewarded accordingly.
You will assist in growing the firm's UK and European data protection and privacy offering, advising sophisticated clients on the full spectrum of issues they face, from GDPR and UK GDPR compliance, international data transfers and regulatory investigations to data-driven transactions, AI governance, cyber incident response and contentious matters. The firm's clients include household names and leading global businesses, and much of the work is cross-border and commercially significant.
You will work hand in hand with the firm's partners in the US, including leading figures in the New York office, who are eager to collaborate and to bring you into major client relationships and multijurisdictional mandates. This is a genuinely integrated platform Firm.
Candidates should be established data protection and privacy lawyers with a strong reputation in the London market and the commercial instincts to match. A credible and portable book of business and the client relationships to build on it are essential, along with the ambition to grow it further within a firm that has the platform to support you.
Experience advising technology sector clients will be particularly valued, as will a track record in regulatory engagement with the ICO and EU authorities. Above all, the firm is looking for someone with the entrepreneurial drive to help build something distinctive.
