Senior Game AI Designer – Total War

Creative Assembly is seeking an experienced Senior Game AI Designer to join our award-winning Total War team in Horsham, West Sussex. This in-studio role offers flexibility for ad hoc remote work.

As a Senior Campaign AI Designer, you will:

• Design, implement, and balance game AI features and behaviors for the turn-based Campaign mode.
• Collaborate closely with AI Programmers, AI Designers, and Game Designers to ensure cohesive development aligning with the Campaign AI vision and Game Director\’s guidance.
• Document designs clearly and improve documentation practices.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge.
• Evaluate and fine-tune AI behaviors using in-house tools.
• Balance game difficulty and develop a holistic view of the game systems.
• Work independently on diverse challenges.

Qualifications include experience in Game or AI Design, a passion for Game AI, understanding of AI solutions, collaboration skills across departments, game balancing experience, and a gamer’s perspective. Additional preferred skills:

• Experience with strategy titles and data analysis.
• Scripting or programming skills.
• Modding experience.
• Deep knowledge of PC turn-based strategy games.
