The Licensing Manager will manage the regional outbound licensing of SEGA's IPs, including Sonic the Hedgehog, for a selection category within the Softlines Portfolio (Apparel, Accessories, Home & other relevant consumer product categories). This is a key role within the licensing team that holds responsibility for helping to shape the licensing strategy for a major global entertainment business and is tasked with planning and executing on aggressive commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver assigned category revenues growth to support the SEGA Europe annual business plan.
- Manage the related categories inclusive of licensees account management, analysing performance and marketing strategy for product sell-in and sell-through.
- Identify, pitch and secure new licensing opportunities across multiple categories.
- Develop and execute on detailed category plans, directly and/or in partnership with licensing agents.
- Manage quarterly forecast submissions & reviews against budget goals.
- Oversee licensing contracts, negotiate key business terms with licensees and work closely with the legal team to finalize contracts.
- Develop a strong network across the business, liaise & collaborate with internal SEGA stakeholders including Marketing, Retail, Product Development, Finance, Legal, SEGA international offices etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in a related role, with previous experience in Softlines or Retail.
- Communication Skills: excellent presentation and written communication skills; relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with a thorough understanding of contract terms.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects.
- Ability to travel as needed for stakeholder/partner meetings, trade shows, and events.
- Technical skills: Strong MS Office including excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
- Degree educated and/or equivalent working experience.
