Creative Assembly is seeking a Lead Lighting Artist to join our talented team for our new project, a sequel to Alien: Isolation.
This role is based at our studio in Horsham, UK, with the possibility of hybrid work within the country. Further details will be discussed during recruitment. As a Lead Lighting Artist, you will be responsible for creating balanced and atmospheric lighting for in-game environments, enhancing atmosphere, visual storytelling, and gameplay experience.

On a daily basis, you will:
- Work closely with the Art Director to define and execute lighting direction.
- Maintain lighting and post-process pipelines, balancing artistic vision with technical constraints.
- Manage the lighting team, providing mentorship, feedback, and support.
- Collaborate with rendering engineers on lighting requirements and implementation.
- Work with design and environment teams to optimize lighting for player experience.
- Ensure lighting meets performance budgets.
- Communicate effectively across disciplines and stay well-organized.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience (Essential):
- 5+ years of experience in lighting for video games.
- Keen artistic eye with attention to detail, understanding of colour theory, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Working knowledge of modern lighting techniques.
- Strong awareness of industry technology trends.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- UE5 experience.
- Familiarity with shader and texture creation.
- Previous leadership experience.
