Overview

In this role you lead and mentor two remote QA sub-teams (Development QA and Functional QA) to drive quality across a AAA title. You act as a hands-on people leader, shaping processes, KPIs and performance, while ensuring smooth collaboration with internal and external teams. You’ll champion quality-assistance practices, push-left initiatives, and fast-paced agile methods to sustain high-quality releases. Your work directly supports developers and post-launch care, with a strong focus on developing staff and maintaining team motivation. This is a chance to influence how QA scales and evolves in a globally distributed studio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor remote Dev QA and Functional QA teams, developing skills and processes
  • Create, maintain and track team KPIs and quality metrics
  • Oversee defect reporting quality and the bug database, and support build delivery
  • Run regular 1:1s, retrospectives, planning sessions and performance reviews
  • Manage workload, priorities, and coverage across assigned teams
  • Maintain and improve test case databases and QA processes
  • Communicate project status and risks to QA leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure cross-team alignment and information flow between internal and external teams
  • Acquire deep product knowledge from development to post-launch support
  • Support staffing coverage and assist with travel to Sofia for face-time with the remote team
  • Innovate and tailor Dev QA processes for maximum efficiency

Key requirements

  • Direct experience leading remote teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Leadership experience in the game industry, especially QA
  • Knowledge of Quality assistance, push left, development QA
  • Knowledge of game production practices and methodologies
  • Experience managing interpersonal issues on a team
  • Experience creating team KPIs and quality control frameworks
  • Experience innovating processes in the game industry
  • Proficient time management and organization
  • Ability to self-manage, generate tasks, and drive testing
  • Desire to lead and develop staff in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Extensive PC and Console gaming experience, preference for survival horror
  • Passion for video games and contributing to the creative process
