Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading games publisher as a Senior Data Scientist within the Data Services team. Working alongside colleagues across SEGA Europe and its studios including Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive and Two Point. You will also work alongside global teams, helping to shape how Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is adopted across SEGA.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring and deploying AI-powered solutions that enable teams to work smarter, make better decisions and unlock greater value from SEGA's data platform. This includes leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI systems, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), Databricks AI capabilities and traditional machine learning concepts to solve real business challenges.

You will help integrate AI into enterprise platforms, business workflows and developer tooling, ensuring AI becomes a core capability across the organisation. As an experienced knowledge holder for Data Science and AI initiatives across SEGA Europe, you will evangelise AI across the business, define technical standards and best practices, evaluate emerging technologies, and work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI can transform workflows, automate processes and accelerate decision making. You will ensure new AI capabilities are delivered securely, responsibly and at enterprise scale. You will be instrumental in delivering SEGA's AI strategy by building intelligent applications, integrating AI into existing data products, and helping drive the next generation of data and AI capabilities across the organisation. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deploy AI-powered applications using Large Language Models, AI agents and modern AI frameworks.
  • Develop agentic AI and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions that securely leverage SEGA's enterprise data.
  • Utilise Databricks AI capabilities including AI Gateway, Mosaic AI, Vector Search, Model Serving and MLflow to deliver production-ready AI solutions.
  • Configure and integrate AI services into business systems, products, developer workflows and enterprise data platforms, including the use of Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities where AI can improve productivity, automate processes and generate business value.
  • Develop AI governance, prompt engineering standards and evaluation frameworks to support secure and responsible AI adoption.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to integrate AI capabilities into data pipelines, products and dashboards.
  • Evangelise AI across the organisation through demonstrations, workshops and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as an experienced knowledge holder for AI architecture, best practices and solution design across SEGA Europe.
  • Continue to evaluate advances in AI through research, experimentation and professional development.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that leverage SEGA's enterprise data platform.
  • Present AI concepts, prototypes and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, helping translate complex technology into tangible business outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Commercial experience developing AI, machine learning or data-driven software solutions.
  • Strong Python and SQL development skills.
  • Experience working with Large Language Models such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama or similar.
  • Experience building AI applications using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel or LlamaIndex.
  • Experience developing AI agents, RAG solutions and integrating AI into enterprise applications.
  • Experience with Databricks or equivalent cloud AI platforms.
  • Experience integrating AI with enterprise systems using APIs, Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar integration patterns.
  • Understanding of vector databases, embeddings and semantic search technologies.
  • Knowledge of AI governance, prompt engineering and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Desirable

  • Experience with Databricks Mosaic AI, Vector Search, Model Serving or MLflow.
  • Experience with Apache Spark and PySpark.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions within Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Familiarity with traditional machine learning techniques and predictive modelling.
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Passion for video games.
