Position Overview
The UK Finance Manager will be a wide-ranging position within the Finance Department at SEGA. The role will provide key direct support to the Group Reporting Manager and the wider Finance team, and cover areas of both Financial and Management Accounting. The Finance Manager is responsible for the end-to-end preparation of statutory accounts, leading the external audit process, and delivering accurate and compliant tax reporting, including VGEC accounting and VAT returns. This role plays a key part in maintaining a robust financial control environment, including ownership of JSOX submissions. The role will have one direct report of a Management Accountant and therefore experience of mentoring and managing a small team is preferable, but not essential.
Working model: Hybrid (4 days in Studio per week) Location: SEGA Europe, Chiswick Business Park, London
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of statutory accounts in compliance with FRS 101 and 102, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support in the preparation and filing of the monthly VAT returns and EX submissions for Poland, Germany, Czechia, and Australia along with the quarterly UK filing.
- Coordinate and submit quarterly JSOX documentation, ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks.
- Assist with process improvements and refinements for the teams, focussing on any finance project requirements.
- Approve payments and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained.
- Close involvement in the year-end group audit.
- Assist the Group Reporting Manager as needed, including acting as cover for the role when required.
- Responsible for the work of the financial accountant and oversight of the following areas: Group intercompany reconciliation and reporting processes, Group reporting (SSHD) packs for the UK Entities, UK marketing spend, VGEC Invoicing and accounting, Bank reconciliations, National Statistics submissions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Minimum five-years post-qualification experience.
- Prior audit/practice experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience with month-end, financial reporting and statutory accounts.
- Strong stakeholder management experience.
