Hours: 25 hours per week. 7:30am - 12:30pm / 1:00pm - 6:00pm alternate weeks.

Aintree Davenhill is seeking a dedicated Premises Supervisor to ensure our school’s facilities are maintained to the highest standards, supporting our commitment to educational excellence. The Role

As a premises supervisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining a secure, safe, and well-presented environment for our school community. Your proactive approach will help ensure that our facilities support outstanding teaching and learning every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of site security, ensuring key holding procedures are followed and the premises remain secure at all times.
  • Respond promptly to call outs, liaising with security services and police as needed, and securing the site following any incidents.
  • Lead on fire safety by regularly testing alarms, conducting evacuation drills, and acting as Fire Marshall.
  • Oversee the safe storage of materials in line with COSHH regulations and champion best practice in health and safety for all premises staff.
  • Operate a preventative maintenance programme, carrying out routine inspections and minor repairs to keep our buildings, fixtures, and grounds in excellent condition.
  • Liaise with external contractors, monitoring their work to ensure high standards and timely completion.
  • Work closely with the Cleaning Supervisor to maintain outstanding levels of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school.
  • Enable access to the site outside normal hours as required.
  • Uphold all school policies relating to child protection, health, safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection.
  • Promote equality and inclusivity, ensuring all members of the school community feel valued and respected.
  • Play an active role in the school’s development, supporting colleagues and participating in meetings and training.
  • Maintain accurate records and support the induction of new support staff as required.

The Person

  • Practical experience in building maintenance, with the ability to carry out minor repairs and routine upkeep.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures, including fire safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with contractors, staff, and external agencies.
  • A flexible, solution-focused approach and a willingness to undertake training and personal development.
