The predicted salary is between 28350 - 34650 £ per year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our dynamic team as an Inclusion Consultant. The postholder will operate under the direction of the Inclusion Co-Ordinator to ensure the Council’s statutory responsibilities for promoting high inclusive practice in schools and settings; ensuring effective SEND intervention and ongoing support is available to children, families, and settings.

Working closely with the Inclusion Co-ordinator, the other Inclusion Consultants, and colleagues in the wider Inclusion Service the successful candidate will:

  • Support the Inclusion Co-Ordinator to raise standards of achievement and improve the quality of teaching for children with SEND, through systematic monitoring and intervention, support, training and challenge to schools and settings providing education for school-aged children.
  • Support schools to meet the individual needs of all children with SEND, but particularly those at risk of poor outcomes through the delivery and whole school development of the graduated approach.
  • Promote and develop good inclusive practice in schools including supporting multi-agency approaches in working with children with SEND.
  • Help and support settings to work in partnership with parents and children.

The postholder must hold the appropriate qualification as set out in the attached Person Specification, have in-depth knowledge and understanding of SEND and Inclusion and have established and evidenced practice as an outstanding practitioner/SENCO in a school, MAT or LA setting. The post comes with flexible working arrangements, including agile working facilities.
