Role
Lead the development, management, delivery and monitoring of exciting and rewarding school neighbourhood projects that improve road safety and accessibility for the school community, thereby supporting active travel, improved highway safety and enhanced public realm.
- Support the development, design and delivery of safe, accessible and sustainable transportation infrastructure.
- Serve as a key communicator and engage with stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication and engagement skills and experience in data collection and analysis.
- Support the Council’s ambitious Growth and Strategic Investment Programme and the transformation of the borough’s transportation infrastructure in line with our emerging Low Carbon Transport Strategy and overarching regeneration and Net‑Zero ambitions.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Council, including Regeneration, Neighbourhoods, Public Health, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and other local, regional and national partners.
Your role
Sefton Council is seeking a committed, enthusiastic and experienced School Neighbourhood Officer with significant experience in effective management of school and community‑based active travel projects and engagement activities. You will develop and manage school neighbourhood projects across the borough, leading the effective delivery of our school‑based active travel programme.
Your role will involve onboarding schools, applying school and community engagement activities, and leading a successful management and monitoring framework. You will contribute to the development of transport policies and strategies and to the delivery of the Council’s Transport Capital Programme.
In line with Sefton’s Workforce Vision, you will benefit from flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements.
