As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst you will act as a trusted advisor to front office trading and commercial teams, ensuring activity across gas, power and LNG markets remains compliant with evolving regulatory requirements. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of energy trading, financial regulation, market conduct compliance, and regulatory change, leading through technical expertise, influence, and strong advisory capability.
What Will You Do
- Provide expert compliance advisory to trading and commercial teams on wholesale energy and financial market regulations.
- Be the subject-matter expert on REMIT, including market abuse risk, inside information, and reporting obligations, by interpreting and applying key financial regulations, including MiFID, EMIR, MAR, and other global frameworks to the business.
- Lead regulatory change initiatives (e.g. REMIT II), translating new rules into practical implementation across the business.
- Maintain and enhance policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
- Support and review trade surveillance, algorithmic trading controls, and monitoring activities.
- Deliver targeted compliance training to traders and stakeholders.
- Prepare management reporting and regulatory-facing submissions.
- Act as a key point of contact for regulators, legal counsel, auditors and industry forums.
What Will You Bring
- Previous knowledge and understanding of both physical and financial commodities, particularly wholesale gas, power, LNG, base metals or broader commodities trading.
- Excellent understanding of REMIT obligations, market-abuse risks, inside information, suspicious transaction and order reporting, and wholesale energy reporting requirements.
- Experience designing and enhancing compliance frameworks across trading, operations, legal, risk, finance, systems and reporting teams.
- Ability to translate complex rules into practical business guidance as well as experience in implementing new regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of financial derivatives regulation: MiFID, EMIR and MAR are essential.
- Regulatory change project experience.
- Strong stakeholder management.
