Overview

You will identify, develop and execute trading strategies in short‐term power markets with a focus on spark spreads, profiles and locational opportunities. Working with gas and carbon traders to develop and execute cross‐commodity strategies with a power focus.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and manage trading ideas/strategies in short‐term power markets.
  • Lead fundamental analysis and modelling.
  • Work with other power analysts and traders to develop wider market strategies.
  • Follow, understand and explain news stories about power networks, markets, companies and regulations.
  • Support and develop the bilateral trading and origination businesses.
  • Act as point of contact for power market regulations, including proposed changes and consultations.
  • Accurate daily reporting of trades, positions and PnL.
  • Manage trading risk within agreed limits and due regard to market liquidity.

What You Will Bring

  • Track record of trading power in a proprietary environment, ideally with exposure to cross‐commodities.
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering to revenue and targets.
  • Detailed knowledge of power generation, transmission and supply.
  • Strong programming skills.
