We’re looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and data models that power analytics, reporting and operational workflows across our data platform. You’ll work across ingestion, transformation, orchestration and environment management to ensure data is high‑quality, trusted and readily accessible. This role is ideal for someone hands‑on, detail‑focused and collaborative, with strong SQL/Python skills and experience across modern cloud‑based data platforms.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Design, build and maintain robust data pipelines ingesting data from operational systems, APIs, files and third‑party platforms.
  • Implement batch and near‑real‑time data ingestion patterns with resilient error handling and monitoring.
  • Manage workflow orchestration and scheduling (e.g., Airflow), including dependencies, retries, alerts and performance optimisation.
  • Design and maintain data models for analytics, reporting and operational needs, following best‑practice standards.
  • Work across development, test and production environments, supporting controlled deployments and CI/CD practices.
  • Improve platform performance, stability and cost efficiency.
  • Apply data quality checks, validation rules, metadata and lineage to ensure transparency and trust in data.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts, architects and engineering teams to deliver end‑to‑end data solutions.
  • Participate in planning, estimation and delivery of data engineering tasks.
  • Support incident resolution relating to data pipelines and data availability.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • Strong experience building and maintaining pipelines in modern data platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and best‑practice patterns.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
  • Strong SQL and Python capability.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure-based data platforms (e.g., Synapse, ADF).
  • Experience working across multiple environments with version control.
  • Understanding of data quality, reliability and operational best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD approaches for data engineering.
  • Experience supporting analytics and reporting use cases in production.
  • Exposure to regulated or data‑sensitive environments.
  • Pragmatic, delivery‑focused and detail‑oriented.
  • Able to balance engineering quality with delivery timelines.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with both technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Proactive in identifying issues and improving data reliability.
