You will be responsible for identifying, developing and executing trading strategies for SEFE-MT in the Oil and Energy markets to develop fuel spreads, time spreads, locational and directional opportunities via plain vanilla or complex derivatives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Develop and execute trading strategies across the oil and energy markets, with a strong focus on identifying price drivers and uncovering value through arbitrage, refining margins, and seasonal dynamics.
  • Contribute to fundamental market analysis and modelling, with the ability to build proprietary models and work closely with analysts to enhance insights.
  • Support bilateral trading and origination activities while actively collaborating across teams to drive informed, commercially sound trading decisions.
  • Work with the analysts and traders to develop wider market strategies.
  • Collaborate with quants and contribute to analysis of quantitative and systematic opportunities.
  • Follow, understand and be able to explain news stories about paper and physical oil markets, companies and regulations.
  • Work with the gas, oil, LNG, power and emissions traders to develop and execute cross commodity strategies.
  • Work with developers to drive the advancement of proprietary infrastructure and technology.
  • Accurate daily reporting of trades, positions and P&L.
  • Management of trading risk; within agreed limits and due regard to market liquidity.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • Demonstrated track record of consistent revenue generation, with the ability to make sound decisions in time‑critical situations.
  • Strong experience operating within highly commercial, performance‑driven environments, combined with detailed knowledge of crude oil and refined product markets.
  • Able to work independently, and across the trading team and wider organisation.
  • Able to explain a complex technical subject to an audience of differing skills and experience.
  • Several years trading in the crude oil and refined product markets.
  • Knowledge and experience of options trading and gas & power trading would be a big plus.
  • Strong business and organisational skills.
  • IT and programming skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
